30 Days of Identity: I am a Citizen of Heaven

Read this 60 Second devotion. Each day, based on our verse of the day, we will add one new label to our Christian identity. At the end of 30 Days, we will have a life affirming, identity forming declaration. This is life changing stuff! --- Day 7

The Word - "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, " Philippians 3:20 ESV

A Thought - As we enter into another political season and witness people becoming the worst version of themselves, we would do well to remember our identity in Christ. Before we are black, white, male, female, Democrat or Republican, we are Jesus People. We are citizens of the only Kingdom that deserves our loyalty and allegiance. We are above the petty partisanship of politics and are called to be peacemakers. We are duty bound by the Law of our Kingdom to Love God and Love others. (God gets to define love, though. We don't.) We are blessed with an opportunity in the political season to live like Kingdom people and in so doing, declare through our living testimony that the Gospel is true, the Way of Jesus is right, and that we are truly followers of Christ.

My Prayer of Declaration - Lord, because of You, I am a New Creation, I am Forgiven, I am Reconciled to God, I am Free, I am Loved, I am complete and I am a citizen of Heaven. - All blessing, honor, glory, power and praise are Yours, Amen.

Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe and transform your life, 60 seconds at a time. - Scott
