30 Days of Identity: I am Not Going to be Popular

The Word - “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also." John 15:18-20 ESV
A Thought - If life is a popularity contest and the whole world is going to judge us, we are not going to win. The fallen spirit that influences those who deign to judge us is diametrically opposed to the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Jesus said that the world is going to hate us because it hated him. He said that we will be mistreated and even persecuted. If we are certain about who we are, who we are not, and who God is, we will be OK come what may. Why? I just spent the last 32 days telling you why!
My Prayer of Declaration - Lord, because of You, I am a New Creation, I am Forgiven, I am Reconciled to God, I am Free, I am Loved, I am complete, I am a citizen of Heaven, I am God's Child, I am Strong, I am not afraid, I am God's Masterpiece, His Ambassador, His Witness and He Welcomes me. I am a Servant of God (just like Jesus), I am more than a Conqueror, I am Holy, I am becoming more like Jesus every day, I have been delivered from darkness, I am chosen, I am a priest, I am a Temple of the Holy Spirit, I'm on a Mission from God, I am full of hope and I have been given a spirit not of fear but of power, love and self-control! I am Jesus' friend, He has justified me, I am a New Creation, I am the salt of the earth, I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I am Going to Live Forever, but I probably will not win life's popularity contest.- All blessing, honor, glory, power and praise are Yours, Amen.
