The Word - “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14 ESV
A Thought - People have strong feelings about what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Here's the thing, what we all have in common is that we all believe that when we become Christians, we are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we can get so caught up in the theological debate that we miss the majesty of this truth. We, who were once consumed with sin, in league with the Devil and devout enemies of God have been so thoroughly saved, washed, cleaned, justified, that GOD HIMSELF, God, the Holy Spirit, has made us his dwelling place. We have an intimacy with God that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and even Moses never new. We are more than we were before salvation; much more!
My Prayer of Declaration - Lord, because of You, I am a New Creation, I am Forgiven, I am Reconciled to God, I am Free, I am Loved, I am complete, I am a citizen of Heaven, I am God's Child, I am Strong, I am not afraid, I am God's Masterpiece, His Ambassador, His Witness and He Welcomes me. I am a Servant of God (just like Jesus), I am more than a Conqueror, I am Holy, I am becoming more like Jesus every day, I have been delivered from darkness, I am chosen, I am a priest, I am a Temple of the Holy Spirit, I'm on a Mission from God, I am full of hope and I have been given a spirit not of fear but of power, love and self-control! I am Jesus' friend, He has justified me, I am a New Creation, I am the salt of the earth, and I am filled with the Holy Spirit.- All blessing, honor, glory, power and praise are Yours, Amen.
