38 Days of Miracles: Do You REALLY Want to be Healed?
This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the the 37 +1 Miracles of Jesus that are recorded in the Bible.
The Word - "5One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” 7The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” 8Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” 9And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked." John 5:5-9 ESV
A Thought - Jesus asked, "Do you want to be healed?" Why? Let me rephrase Jesus' question. Would you like to be responsible for your own well being. Would you like to be responsible to care for your mother if she becomes a widow? Are you OK with learning a trade? Is working 6 days a week and dealing with people as your equal going to work for you? Can you live a life that doesn't revolve around this pool? Are you willing to completely lose your identity?
If you think about it, Jesus' questions was quite legitimate. Let me ask you, do You want to be healed?
A Prayer - Lord, make my heart ready for whatever you have for me. Whether it is healing or suffering, lead me to have peace with you despite my circumstance. - In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
