38 Days of Miracles: Is it Time Already

This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the the 37 +1 Miracles of Jesus that are recorded in the Bible.

The Word - "28And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way. 29And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” 30Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them. 31And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.” 32And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters. 33The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region." Matthew 8: 28-33 ESV

A Thought - Much can be said about this miracle, but notice how the demons react to Jesus. First, they recognize who Jesus is. Second, they recognize that Jesus has authority over them. Third, and I really like this one, the demons acknowledge that there is going to be a day of reckoning when they no longer run free and they pay for their rebellion against God. I'm glad I'm on Jesus' side.

A Prayer - Lord, the foul, and demonic things of this world know who you are and they tremble in fear. I know that You are greater than all of them and that their day of reckoning is coming. Help me to walk in your authority over the darkness in this world and let your light shine brightly through me. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
