Mark: Day 22 - Play for an Audience of One

This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the Gospel of Mark.

The Word - "And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.” Mark 11:18 ESV

A Thought - The authorities in the time of Jesus feared him because the crowds loved him. Crowds are fickle things. One minute they love you, the next minute they want to crucify you. A life spent trying to please others will be a roller coaster of unmanageable highs and lows that will make you crave an end to it all. Ultimately, their is only One that we need to please. There is only One that will never turn on us. That One is the One who knit us in our mother's womb, and who called us out of the darkness and into the light.

A Prayer - Lord, help me to get my head on straight, so that I no longer live to please the crowd but live to please only You. I know You are always for me and that if I please You, all who are good with You will be good with me. Praise You, Lord! - In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe and transform your life, 60 seconds at a time. - Scott
