Mark: Day 23 - Loving with "All"

This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the Gospel of Mark.

The Word - "And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12: 28-31 ESV

A Thought - People tend to like rules. I think we like them because it is easy to gauge when we've done enough to satisfy the rule. It is also a favorite human pastime to find ways around the rules. More than just a rule, God's commandments require us to love with "ALL." You can never get around "ALL." You can never do enough to satisfy "ALL," because we can always love a little bit more. Loving with "ALL" is a journey that never ends. It is a all encompassing.

A Prayer - Lord, let me never waver or tire in my commitment and efforts to love You with "All." Also, show me how to love my neighbor in a way that they can perceive it as love. - In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe and transform your life, 60 seconds at a time. - Scott
