Mark: Day 29 - Mistreated by the World

This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the Gospel of Mark.
The Word - "And the soldiers led him away inside the palace (that is, the governor’s headquarters), and they called together the whole battalion. And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. And they began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him and kneeling down in homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him. Mark 15:16-20 ESV
A Thought - Are you shocked by the actions of the soldiers towards Jesus? Why? Jesus said the world hates him and it will hate us too. (John 15:18-20) When those who live by the standards of the world are not restrained, either by the laws of man or the hand of God, they will treat us the same way they treated Jesus. We have seen such things take place wherever Christ has been preached. It's the normal Christian life.
A Prayer - Lord, bless those who will, or would like to persecute me because of you. I pray that you forgive them and bring them to a saving knowledge of You. May I lead a life worthy of worldly opposition. - In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
