Mark: Day 5 - He's More than Free Stuff
This 30 Days Series will lead us to Touch the Hem of Jesus' Robe by taking a look at the Gospel of Mark.
The Word - "Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him, for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him." Mark 3:7-10 ESV
A Thought - People, generally speaking, do not change. When Jesus walked this planet as a man, they flocked to him as soon as they heard about all the cool stuff he was doing; feeding, healing, preaching controversial messages, casting out demons. When we know Jesus, He is enough. We know that He has already done enough. Stuff is nice but it has no bearing.
A Prayer - Lord, purify my heart. Cleanse me of impure motives that connect me to the material aspects of life rather than to You, the author of life. I trust in You for all my needs, but even if I feel like my needs are not being met, I will still trust in You. - In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
